U.S. Cannabis Spot Index up 0.8% to $1,423 per pound.
The simple average (non-volume weighted) price increased $5 to $1,590 per pound, with 68% of transactions (one standard deviation) in the $896 to $2,285 per pound range. The average reported deal size declined to 1.7 pounds. In grams, the Spot price was $3.14 and the simple average price was $3.51.
As illustrated below, this week’s U.S. Spot Index once again reached a new annual peak, a milestone that has not been established this late in the year since 2015.
April 2020 Forward initially assessed at $1,290 per pound.
The average reported forward deal size increased to 50 pounds. The proportion of forward deals for outdoor, greenhouse, and indoor-grown flower was 54%, 30%, and 16% of forward arrangements, respectively. The average forward deal sizes for monthly delivery for outdoor, greenhouse, and indoor-grown flower were 47 pounds, 43 pounds, and 68 pounds, respectively.
At $1,250 per pound, the November Forward represents a discount of 12.2% relative to the current U.S. Spot Price of $1,423 per pound. The premium or discount for each Forward price, relative to the U.S. Spot Index, is illustrated in the table below.
