The histograms below illustrate the distribution of spot price observations for the first half of 2024 and 2023, respectively. Frequency analysis is in the table following the charts.
The price movement between the two periods is highlighted in the table below. It depicts the 2024 frequency for each grow type and price bucket less the corresponding frequency in 2023. For example, in the first half of 2024, 56% of outdoor transactions fell in the $401-$600 per pound price bucket, which is 21% more than the corresponding frequency of 34% during the first half of 2023.
Outdoor flower prices remained almost entirely in the lower half of the total price range observed. There were fewer transactions below $400 and above $600, with consolidation in the $401-$600 price range.
Greenhouse grown flower prices also exhibited some consolidation in the lower price ranges, but also experienced more transactions priced in the $1,200 to $1,800 range.
The most dramatic movement occurred with indoor grown flower prices, with a broad-based shift from deals priced at or below $1,200 per pound to those over $1,200 per pound.
