The U.S. Cannabis Spot Index increased 0.6%, or $6, to close at $956 per pound. The U.S. Spot Index is currently down 5.3% from the year-to-date average of $1,009 per pound, and has been below $1,000 per pound for eight consecutive weeks. Similar to last week, modest declines in the price of higher priced indoor and greenhouse grown flower outweighed a modest increase in the price of outdoor sungrown flower. At this point last year, the Index was $1,021 per pound. Through the first three quarters of 2023, the index averaged $1,003; and increased to average $1,067 per pound during the fourth quarter.
Both indoor grown flower and outdoor grown flower prices in Massachusetts saw large declines this week. The Massachusetts Indoor Cannabis Spot Index fell 6.9% per pound. Prices for bulk transactions of indoor flower fell 7.8%, while prepackaged indoor flower transactions lost 5.1%.
Wholesale cannabis prices in Michigan were on the rise this week, with all grow types seeing increased average prices pushing the Michigan Cannabis Spot Index up 4.1% per pound. A reduction of the amount of transactions for outdoor grown flower have resulted in the state composite reaching a price point last seen in early August.
Small increases in the average prices for greenhouse and outdoor grown flower in Oregon resulted in the Oregon Cannabis Spot Index seeing a 3.9% per pound increase this week. The state composite price is now at a level last seen in the early weeks of July. Outdoor grown flower prices in Oregon are down 24% since the opening week of 2024 and greenhouse grown flower prices are down an astonishing 47% in the same timeframe.
April 2025 Implied Forward Initially Assessed at $1,015 per pound.
At $1,010 per pound, the November Implied Forward represents a premium of 5.6% relative to the current U.S. Spot Price of $956 per pound.
