Wholesale prices in Vermont started the year off on the rise, gaining 3.9% per pound to open 2025. Increased pricing was observed across all grow types, with bulk flower sales having the largest impact on price assessments. Overall, bulk flower prices were up 9.7%, while prepackaged flower product pricing fell 4.9%.

The beginning of 2025 showed no signs of mercy on the battered Michigan wholesale cannabis market. The Michigan Cannabis Spot Index reached depths previously occupied only by outdoor grown flower in the major sun grown markets of California and Oregon. Coming in this week with the lowest state price assessment we have seen over our nearly 10 years of reporting, the state price assessment lost 12.6% per pound since last week.

Wholesale flower pricing for all grow types in California saw a decline entering 2025. Greenhouse grown and outdoor grown flower losses were minimal, with both losing less than $10 per pound on their volume weighted average price, while indoor grown flower pricing saw a significant drop, losing 7.6% per pound to open 2025.

July 2025 Implied Forward Initially Assessed at $960 per pound.

At $930 per pound, the February Implied Forward represents a premium of 4.7% relative to the current U.S. Spot Price of $888 per pound. The forward curve was assessed down more than 5% as weakness in the spot market drove price declines in the final weeks of 2024.
