About Adam Koh
Adam has worked in the legal cannabis industry since moving to Denver in 2013. He began as a member of staff at a medical cannabis cultivation facility, and ascended rapidly to manage its operations. The facility consisted of about 10,000 square feet of canopy area, populated by roughly 3,000 – 3,500 plants. Adam was responsible for managing a staff of 15 – 20 employees, formulating SOPs for cultivation operations, and ensuring compliance with state and local regulations, among other responsibilities.
In 2015, Adam transitioned to work as a consultant, aiding other licensed businesses improve efficiency, productivity, and compliance. Through his consulting work, he became involved with Cannabis Benchmarks, which he joined full-time in 2017.
Adam brings to his position as Editorial Director both his knowledge of the cannabis industry, gained from first-hand experience managing a licensed business and consulting to others, and his research, writing, and analytical abilities honed during his time in academia.
Prior to moving to Denver, Adam graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then gained a Master’s degree from the University of Delaware, and began pursuit of a Ph.D., completing coursework and comprehensive exams. However, after a brief stint as an adjunct professor at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, he decided to head west and pursue opportunities in the budding cannabis industry.
